RunSafe Speaking at Escar USA 2026

Event: Escar USA 2026
Date: May 19-21, 2026
Location: Novi, Michigan

RunSafe Security is excited to have Doug Britton presenting at this year’s escar USA event on Wednesday, May 20 at 4:25 pm.

Doug will be speaking on “From Code to Compliance: Meeting U.S. Connected Vehicle Origin Requirements.”

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) finalized a new rule governing software and hardware used in connected vehicles. The rule introduces explicit country-of-origin considerations for certain classes of automotive software and requires manufacturers and importers to submit annual Declarations of Conformity to show they are not engaging in prohibited transactions involving VCS hardware or covered software.

Doug’s session will cover the Connected Vehicle Rule from an engineering and compliance perspective and explore why software provenance captured during development and build time is becoming a critical enabler of regulatory conformity.
